Chapter Director: Jessica Garcia-Driedger

Welcome to our newest Chapter Director for the Battlefords in Saskatchewan. When Jessica first heard of Safe Families, she knew it was a ministry that aligned with her heart’s passion of reconciling people to God and each other. With a special interest in encouraging the church to live out the central message of Jesus, Jessica hopes to see the Battlefords transformed by the power and love of God through others.

Jessica has served in several faith-based non-profit ministries as a mentor, leader, and teacher. Her years of working as a Missions Coordinator, a Mental Health Support Worker and most recently an Administrative Assistant at Catholic Family Services have helped prepare her for this role. She is honoured to use her experience, skills, and heart to serve the Battlefords and this community which is now her home.

Her husband Braden grew up in the Battlefords and works for a local business. They have been married for five years. Together they witnessed a miracle and welcomed their first son into their home last March. They enjoy spending time with their families, exploring the outdoors, and working on projects around the house. Jessica is continually grateful for the safe place that her family and home are, and desires for families in crisis to know the same safety and goodness of God in their own homes.

Jessica is excited to serve God through Safe Families Canada. She asks for your prayers as she steps into this new role.”

Family Placement Coordinator: Denai Hemmerling
As a young child Denai experienced the life changing effects that people driven by compassion and love can have on a family in crisis. This fostered a deep desire in her to become a person who compassionately and intentionally loves the hurting as Jesus does. As she has experienced the gift of her own children, that passion has grown to include a desire to serve and protect the family unit.
She has had the privilege of working with and developing many family focused ministries, as well as working locally as a Youth Care Worker in The Battlefords. Her experience in ministry and social services has given her understanding, awareness and skills to encourage and support families in crisis. Denai is excited to use these skills and passions to serve in this role in Safe Families. She has a deep love for The Battlefords and the people that make this place so special!
In her off time Denai enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 kids. They enjoy campfires in their backyard, movie nights, hosting people in their home, and travelling!”

Safe Families Canada |The BattlefordsSteering Committee
We are excitedly connecting with our local churches, business communities and individuals throughout the Battlefords as we work to secure the necessary funds in order to launch the first-ever Safe Families Canada chapter in Saskatchewan!!  The Battlefords is an amazing community with many families and some really excellent family programs.  However, there continues to be a need for families in crisis where the current services may have gaps or are already at capacity.  As a steering committee, we are excited to see our local church volunteers rise up to meet these needs in tangible ways.  We seek to bring opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in crisis in the Battlefords.  We are passionate about coming alongside families in order to provide support, connection, and community.
We continue to support Jessica Garcia as she comes on board as our new Chapter Director!
