God is good and we are excited to (belatedly) announce that the Windsor/Essex County Chapter of Safe Families Canada is up and running!
A big thank you to the members of our dedicated steering committee who have worked tirelessly to establish this chapter.
We have begun screening and training volunteers to serve families-in-crisis in our local community and are actively recruiting more. We can’t wait to get our first cohort of Host Families hosting children!
SFC has hired Joanne Fear as the Windsor/Essex County Regional Director and she is now directing and managing all aspects of the local chapter. Joanne has been a Children’s Life Director for over 22 years in the Windsor area and has a passion for vulnerable children and families. Joanne is the mother of 2 adult children and 7 adorable grandchildren.
How can those in Windsor/Essex County get involved?
If you live in or around the Windsor/Essex County area, we would love for you to contact us and get involved! Here are some things you can do:
- Volunteer with Safe Families Windsor/Essex! All training provided.
- Engage your local church with Safe Families.
- Spread the word — tell your friends and family about Safe Families.
- Donate — Safe Families operates entirely on donations and needs ongoing funding to sustain the program
