Chapter Director, Joanne Fear

Joanne Fear is the Chapter Director for Safe Families Windsor-Essex which launched in March of 2019. Joanne explains that Safe Families Canada reframes how families are supported during a crisis. Through the dedicated volunteers in the Windsor-Essex Chapter, a parent can voluntarily arrange for their child(ren) to stay with an approved volunteer Host Family while they address the overwhelming issues facing them. Family Friends provide support and help accessing community resources to stabilize the home and to maintain custody of their children. Family Coaches then serve as mentors to encourage continue the growth and support that all parents need.

 Meriya Wolin first joined Safe Families Canada|Windsor-Essex in August 2019 as a host family. She then joined the staff as an intern and then full time as a Family Placement Coordinator. When not at work Meriya is happily married to Cody and together they are raising two young girls who keep them very busy!
