Safe Families Canada launched its second Chapter in July 2017. The London Chapter has been able to walk with and serve families through a variety of circumstances including health, addictions, homelessness, and isolation. We have also been able to work with a number of provincial and private agencies, the LHSC and others, to serve families in crisis.
Chapter Director – Greg Stigge
Greg Stigge has been the Chapter Director for Safe Families in London since its launch in April 2017. Greg’s 20 years of involvement in foster care and adoption has developed in him a strong passion to help families in crisis before a breakdown occurs and before the state needs to get involved. Greg and his wife have ten children.
Greg is fuelled in his serving by Prov. 31:8-9 that says “Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy.” and by Isaiah 1:17 “learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”
Family Placement Coordinator – Natalie Plant
From a young age Natalie has had a desire to help those in need. While most young children might watch Saturday morning cartoons, she would watch the child sponsorship shows, cry, pray and wonder how she could help. Natalie grew up as missionary kid and now is married to her awesome husband Rhys who is a pastor in town. Together they have five spunky children. Natalie has a degree in community development, has worked in developmental supports and has been a foster parent. Natalie is empathetic to the struggles families can have and is keenly aware that we all need Jesus.
Family Coach Supervisor – Erin Bouchard
Erin Bouchard joins the SFC|London Chapter team as the Family Coach Supervisor. Erin has been involved in the Child Welfare System as both a Child and Youth Worker and Foster Parent for many years. She has experience working with kids and families and believes that God calls us to care for the vulnerable and that He created families to be together. She’s excited to bring her experience to Safe Families London and see where this role will take her. When she’s not working she loves spending time with her husband, her four kids, drinking too much coffee and watching football.
Hannah Pennings - Administrative Assistant
Hannah had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home and community where she learned so much about our God and Savior. Over the past couple years, through the work of the Holy Spirit and many people around her, she has grown to know God in a deeper and more personal way. As a result, He has given her a desire to be more involved in the work of His Kingdom. Through lots of waiting, listening and praying, God opened a door at Safe Families Canada|London Chapter. An opportunity to use the gifts He has given her to serve others and ultimately Him. Hannah's role at Safe Families London is as the Administrator Assistant. and she is so thankful for this opportunity to be a part of a team that does so much good for the community! Hannah's family and friends are dear to her heart and horses are a close second! She loves baking, the outdoors and any new crafts. She lives outside of St. Thomas with her husband Brendan and their puppy, Boe.
