When you make a donation to Safe Families Canada, the funds are prioritized to your local chapter.*
Each chapter is responsible for a monthly administrative expense to cover costs such as insurance, bookkeeping, human resources, secure document storage, legal council, financial audit, administration and our Better Impact© database. This expense is set at 15% of the chapter’s previous year’s financial support. This is reviewed each year by the board according to the administration costs of Safe Families Canada.
SFC Chapters are financially efficient in their operations. While many of our staff work from home, some have been provided with office space at a reduced cost. Staff coordinate most activities with cell phones, laptops and personal vehicles. This efficiency leads to minimal overhead costs. Additionally, the support that our staff and volunteers provide for the families that we serve takes place either in our homes, or in a public space. SFC does not incur costs related to running a centre or meeting space.
In addition, the selfless volunteers that serve with SFC provide the majority of the support that the families that we support require. Our paid staff focus on recruiting, training, and supervising our volunteers, and coordinating all aspects of the local Safe Families Canada network.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Join Businesses across Canada and make a difference in your community by supporting Safe Families Canada (SFC) in keeping Children Safe and Families Together.
Make SFC a part of your Corporate Social Responsibility plan as a business strategically giving back to your local community. By supporting SFC, your business becomes a leader in strengthening children, families and caregivers affected by crisis.
Your business can increase awareness of the needs of families in crisis whilst increasing its own responsible business activities and reputation for stability in the community. A partnership like this will also benefit your employees as they will have direct access to a community of support, when they face their own family crisis.
By supporting SFC you can be a leader in your community through four building blocks.
